Miia Viitanen

Miia Viitanen has previously been Director, New Ventures at Aalto EE. Before she has worked in the finance sector for 10 years in asset management and business development positions. Prior to joining Aalto EE she lived in the US consulting companies in international business. She has a degree both in economics and sports management.

Sakari Huovinen

Dr. Sakari Huovinen is a coordinator of a project launched by the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, to prevent the social exclusion of young people. He is also a Vice President of the Tukikummit Foundation founded by the President. Dr. Huovinen specializes in communications, regulation and public affairs. Previously, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher and senior researcher at the Institute of International Economic Law of the University of Helsinki specializing in areas such as the regulation of freedom of speech, and the changing media environment and consumer protection.

Hans Henrik Lund

Dr. Hans Henrik Lund is a top expert in commercialization and change management. He has served on several Boards of Directors, eg. Royal Copenhagen, and served in a number of senior management positions at Helvar, Jabra, Nokia and Microsoft. Currently he is CEO at Nilfisk Ltd. He holds a Ph.D. in materials science at Aalborg University, Denmark, and an MBA degree.

Ben Nothnagel

Ben Nothnagel is an expert in self-development and applied neuro-science and has been a member of Aalto EE’s faculty for many years. The self-development project he designed and facilitated has become a pivotal part of the Aalto MBA and EMBA experience. His concepts of applied neuro-science have also been incorporated into the leadership development programs of many global corporations. He is an Attorney at Law, as well as an MBTI Certified Interpreter, Certified Emotional Intelligence practitioner, Certified SDI Conflict Management practitioner, and a Big Five Personality assessor. He has extensive consulting experience from working with companies such as Daimler, Nordea, Finnair, Michelin, GE, HP, Yahoo, Vaisala, Cargotec, and Danfoss to name but a few.

Fabian Sepulveda

Dr. Fabian Sepulveda has over 20 years of working experience in engineering, management consulting and investment banking with several organizations including Lucent Technologies, A.T. Kearney, and JP Morgan. Currently he is actively involved in Finland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem as a startup coach and Lean Launchpad® trainer. He teaches Venture Formation and other courses at the Aalto University Ventures Program and Aalto University Executive Education. Dr. Sepulveda has a BSc in Electrical Engineering, an MSc. in Finance and a PhD in International Entrepreneurship.

Mirjami Mäkinen

Mirjami Mäkinen has long-term and extensive experience of senior executive and marketing positions in Salomaa Group. Over the last nine years, she has served as Chief Executive Officer of Salomaa Yhtiöt Oy, the Group parent company, and as a member of the Board of Directors. She is Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration).

Will Cardwell

Will Cardwell is Lecturer and New Projects Lead at the Aalto Ventures Program, Aalto University. His expertise includes above all venturing and venture capital. Will Cardwell has spent 15 years in the Finnish high­tech environment as a CEO of a startup, venture capitalist, CEO of Technopolis Ventures, investment banker, researcher and lecturer. He has been on the board of 15 Finnish companies. He has been in charge of coordinating Aalto University’s strategic university partnerships and co-founded the Aalto Center for Entrepreneurship.

Riitta Kosonen

Dr. Riitta Kosonen is Professor and Director of the Center for Markets in Transition (CEMAT) at the Aalto University School of Business. She is in charge of several multidisciplinary research projects which provide scientifically rigorous and societally relevant research on emerging markets, especially in Russia and China, and on the competitiveness of the Baltic Sea Region in the global economy. She is active in several working groups and a member of a number of boards.

Sampsa Hyysalo

Dr. Sampsa Hyysalo is Associate Professor in Co-design at the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture and a Senior Researcher at the Aalto University School of Business. His research focuses on user involvement in innovation, and the co-evolution of technologies, practices and organizations. Hyysalo was awarded the Academy of Finland 2010 Prize for Social Impact of Research.

Jason Staines

Jason Staines has graduated from Staffordshire University and made a long career at Nokia working in different management positions. Most recently, he worked as a HR Director of Leadership Development and before that HRD Director for Nokia Mobile Phones Business Unit. Jason has expertise in change management, strategy, learning and development, organizational development, and talent management.

Mika Pantzar

Dr. Mika Pantzar is a Research Professor at the National Consumer Research Center. His field of research is diverse and his expertise includes e.g. futurology and research of consumption and technology. In 1996 Pantzar received the State Award for Public Information and in 2010 his business publication was the most read book in the category.

Arja Leijala

Arja Leijala has extensive experience in retail banking and its development. She has led the executive training and development programs in OP Pohjola group and worked as a bank manager and member of the management team in Etelä-Karjalan Osuuspankki. Leijala has expertise in creating and implementing leadership and management concepts as well as coaching programs. She has an EMBA degree.

Aki Seeck

Aki Seeck has vast experience in marketing, international investor relationships and long-term strategic business planning. Seeck has worked as a tactics lecturer at the Finnish National Defense University and as a visiting lecturer at other educational institutions and corporations. He holds board member and expert positions in a number of companies and organizations. From 2004 to 2007, he worked in the Middle East promoting Finnish exports to Qatar.
